GADVASU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Barnala organized an awareness camp on in-situ paddy straw management at adopted Village Ganghor ( Barnala) in guidance of Dr. Prahalad Singh Tanwar, Associate Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra , Handiaya under the Crop Residue Management (CRM) Project. More than 60 farmers participated in this camp.During the camp Dr. Tanwar advised the farmers for not burning the paddy straw and highlighted adverse effects of paddy straw burning on human health, soil health and environment and suggested for insitu management of Parali ” KHET KI PARALI KHET VICH” which improved the soil health and fertility. He also suggested the harvesting of Paddy must be done by Straw Management System ( SMS) fitted combine, it will make easy for in situ parali Management. Dr. Suryendra Singh AP (Agronomy) discuss various machinary for in- situ parali Management. Dr. Sanjay Kumar highlighted the control of pests and diseases. Dr. Sachin discussed on use of Parali in livestock.
