Krishi Vigyan Kendra Barnala of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana organised a vocational training camp under ARYA Project in direction of Dr. Prahalad Singh Tanwar Associate Director KVK, Barnala. Dr.Tanwar said that Scientific poultry farming is an emerging field of self employment. He also added that back yard poultry farming is an additional source of income and provides nutritional security to rural families. He said that higher income can be generated by adopting scientific poultry farming practices. He discussed in detail about various high producing breeds of poultry, management of day old chicks to grower and layer, construction of low cost housing, litter and light management, feeding of poultry and preparation of balance ration for different categories of poultry. Dr. Subhash and from College of Veterinary Science, Rampura phul discussed nutritional disease and their management, How to prevent canabolism, Dr. Varun discussed about various diseases and their control, vaccination and deworming. Dr. Suryendra Singh discussed about importance of feeding green fodder in poultry, and control of external parasites.
Dr Anjuly Sharma KVK Barnala gave detail practical on processing of Eggs and poultry meat for generation of higher income. More than 20 farmers from different villages of the district Barnala Participated in this training program.
