Before KVK Intervention

1.        After the completion of M.Sc (Agronomy) degree from P.A.U. Ludhiana

2.        He then started a job at Miri Piri khalsa college Bhadaur, Barnala as SMS.

3.        He was following a traditional practice of mono-cropping System(Rice-wheat)

4.        He has an aim to do something different in the field of agriculture.

Interventions by KVK Barnala

1.        In year 2019, he made a plan to start turmeric cultivation in 3 acres of land.

2.        Then he installed a processing unit of turmeric unit at its farm situated at village Kattu, Barnala.

3.        KVK, Barnala has helped him learning the techniques for turmeric processing and marketing. 

4.        He learnt the advance technique of blanching from CIPHET, Ludhiana.

5.        He always in touch of KVK Scientist by mobile and whatsapp

After

1.     He started the turmeric cultivation from 3 acre area 

2.     After the successful sale of turmeric powder he increased the turmeric cultivation to 9 acre area.

3.     He also tested his turmeric powder and has found high curcumin content of around in the range of 3.14.

4.     He has successfully able to sale his turmeric powder from his village.

5.     On various occasions he was awarded by KVK, Barnala in year 2021 as innovative farmer
